Illuminati Revolutions At the founding of Harvard University in 1636, Hebrew and Latin were the only languages taught and Governor Cotton of Massachusetts wanted to make the Mosaic Code the official state law and Hebrew the official state language. Early America was settled by Puritan colonists along with families who were fleeing persecution, some of whom were Deists. While Puritans were importing their ideas of a religious America under the “New Jerusalem” with their Old Testament as God-ordained “Law,” the Deists, many of whom were “enlightened” by the recent Renaissance were seeking to build an America more in line with the Rosicrucian philosophy or ideology, which was centered in alchemy, magical sciences, and liberation of the individual, based organically in the principles of freedom, more along the lines of the ideas of John Locke. The Puritan religious intolerance led to the witch trials in Salem Massachusetts in 1692-93. The Deist opposition and quest for freedom led to the Declaration of Independence and the Revolutionary War. Deism today is based in Secular Humanism. (36) The crackdown on witchcraft in America continued until far past the Revolutionary War into the era post-Civil War. Executions which occurred in Massachusetts in 1692, changed public sentiment a little and started a reverse trend, however, in New York and other provinces the laws stayed in place until the 1800’s. In South Carolina, witchcraft was a capital offence in the code until the reorganization of state government after the Civil War. (37) The next important link to draw is the connection between the Rosicrucians and the formation of the Illuminati in Bavaria, Germany on May 1, 1776. Prior to the formation of the Illuminati, there were several movements and areas of philosophical thought prevailing throughout Europe, all brought on by the Rosicrucian enlightenment. In Spain there existed a loosely formed organization of mystical practitioners of Christianity called the Alumbrados. Some of their views were so strictly religious they were held to be heretical by the church, even accusing people of doing things by their will as evidence of sin. In 1527, Ignatius Loyola, while studying at Salamanca, was brought before an ecclesiastical commission on a charge of sympathy with the Alumbrados but avoided major punishment. In 1541, Loyola founded the religious order called the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and became its first Superior General at Paris.
